Highway Cleanup a Great Success

Have you noticed that the roadsides close to St. Jude of the Lake Catholic School are welcoming and litter free? This past weekend, April 30th, several volunteers gathered to clean up the trash that has accumulated through the winter and early spring months along Highway 244 in Mahtomedi and Dellwood.

Our families have been participating in The Adopt-A-Highway program for the past three years.

The Adopt-A-Highway program in Washington County began in 1991, providing an opportunity for residents of Washington County to help keep the County looking clean for all residents and visitors.  This enables the state’s environmentally conscious citizens to make a personal contribution to a cleaner environment and help us be proud to be Minnesotans.

The public can volunteer and participate in Adopt a Highway to pick up litter along Minnesota’s highways. Adopt – A- Highway also enables residents who are environmentally conscious to make a personal contribution to a cleaner environment.

These volunteers save MN DOT $7 million every year!
