Listed below are a number of Home and School programs that take place at St. Jude of the Lake School. The programs/events are a way to meet other families and build our St. Jude of the Lake School community. Each of these programs/events is a success because of the volunteers that make them happen. Please see where you can lend your time and talent to help make these events possible.
Art Adventure– An opportunity for parents to be trained on art from Minneapolis Institute of Art, and directly share this information with students.
Art Fundraisers – Volunteers needed to assist the art teacher with the fall art fundraiser, such as Original Artwork, as well as help coordinate Spring Dinner artwork for silent auction.
Back to School Night – H&S assists the school with setup and decorations, as well as an H&S booth to communicate event and volunteer opportunities.
Birthday Board – H&S maintains the birthday board each month to celebrate each students birthday (or half birthdays for summer birthdays)
Book Fair– A Scholastic Book Fair is held during Catholic Schools Week to provide students with an opportunity to expand their personal collections with inexpensive quality books. This is also an opportunity to help teachers expand their classroom libraries.
Christmas Concert/Program – A social event for the community where our students perform to celebrate the magic of Christmas. H&S provides refreshments, Christmas decorations, and printed programs.
Faculty Appreciation – A chance for H&S to honor our teachers and staff throughout the year with events, conference meals, gifts, etc.
First Thursday Meetings– H&S holds a monthly meeting as a way to meet other individuals in the community, unite the community, and as a communication method for H&S business. Held the first school Thursday of each month.
Fundraising – H&S helps support passive fundraising for the school through Box Tops 4 Education, Campbell’s Labels for Education, and Target REDcard programs.
Library Helpers – Every Friday the children visit the library. A library helper can help the children check in/out books and reshelf books.
Memory Books – H&S sponsors the opportunity for parents to purchase memory books of student plays, with all fundraising proceeds given back to the St. Jude theater program.
New Family Mentor – This is an opportunity to share your St. Jude of the Lake knowledge by acting as a mentor to new incoming families.
School Tool Box – A program that allows the opportunity for parents to purchase school supplies online with delivery to their home. A portion from each sale goes back to H&S.
Used Uniform Sale – H&S hosts a used uniform sale once a year, and provides an area year round for parents to “shop” for a needed uniform item. Proceeds from these sales go back to H&S.
