Our Teachers & Staff
The school is blessed with a highly talented and dedicated faculty and staff, committed and engaged students and parents, and a supportive and involved parish. As a result, our school community is vibrant, high performing, and faith filled.
Carrie Hackman - Principal
I am super excited and blessed to have what promises to be a great opportunity to make a positive difference in the lives of our children. For me, the school year is always filled with amazing new adventures and lots of new friends.
St. Jude of the Lake Catholic School provides excellent Catholic and academic experiences that are faith-filled, rigorous, challenging, invigorating and relationship building.
As principal, it is very important to me that everyone who steps through our doors, whether it be a staff member, parent, student or visitor, is excited to be here. The positive attitude and welcoming setting enables us to meet the challenges of academic excellence in a positive, fun, nurturing environment and grow our school community, while furthering our mission of providing a strong Catholic foundation for our students.
Cecilia Garcia – Kindergarten
As the kindergarten teacher at St. Jude of the Lake, I will ensure that every one of my students succeeds and shows growth. I will make a welcoming and comfortable classroom environment so that my students have the best opportunity to learn. I am so excited to be a part of your child’s first academic experience and I will dedicate myself to make everyday engaging and fun!
Education: B.A. in Elementary Education, with a minor in Early Childhood at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls.
Molly Cullen – First Grade
I am so excited to meet many new faces and create experiences in our beautiful school. I promise to dedicate my full attention to my first grade students. I will strive to create a comfortable learning environment, and I commit to becoming a resourceful and qualified facilitator of students. I am so excited for our year of many firsts!
Education: B.A. in Elementary Education from the College of St. Benedict.
Sarah Moorhouse – Second Grade
I enjoy working at St. Jude of the Lake Catholic School because of the welcoming and supportive environment. As a second-grade teacher, I strive to make each day engaging and student-centered so that students are excited about their learning. This year is pivotal as second graders develop academically by gaining the necessary skills to become active inquirers, and spiritually by receiving their First Holy Communion.
Education: B.S. in Elementary Education, Summa Cum Laude, with an emphasis in Mathematics and Spanish at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls.
Chuck Scobba – Third Grade
I have truly enjoyed the children and the families that have gone through our school during my time here. I have taught 1st grade, 4th grade, and now 3rd grade. I engage the students by connecting their everyday life experiences with what they are learning in the classroom. This helps them ease into more rigorous academic work to prepare them for future success while also having a lot of fun at the same time.
Education: M.Ed. in Religious Education from the University of St. Thomas and B.A. in Elementary Education from Briar Cliff University in Sioux City, Iowa.
Jill Ryan – Fourth & Fifth Grade
I am thrilled to be the Fourth and Fifth Grade teacher at St. Jude of the Lake. I love our community, and I am very much looking forward to building relationships with each child during our art classes, our fabulous class of fourth and fifth graders, and of course their parents!
Education: M.A. in Aesthetics in Education and B.A. in Integrated Science from the University of Denver.
Anthony Sicora – Physical Education
Hello, my name is Anthony Sicora, and I have been teaching for two years and I love working with students. I want all students to have fun in my class and enjoy exercise like I do.
Education: B.S. in Kinesiology and Exercise Science at the University of St. Thomas.
Annie Chapel – Music & Theatre
I believe that learning music helps people see beauty around them and creates a sense of community. I engage students with interesting and challenging lessons every day. I strive to create a safe and comfortable environment in which students respect and value one another while learning through hands-on experience. The students have the freedom to create their own music as part of the music curriculum.
One of the most exciting times of the year in the music room is preparing for our annual all-school Spring Musical. All the students work hard together with me to create a fantastic production. Last year, it was “Annie Jr.” and this year, we will be putting together “The Lion King Jr.” Teaching music to young people and witnessing the growth in my students is extraordinarily fulfilling for me.
Education: B.A. in Music and B.M. in Music Education from Saint Olaf College.
Jeanne Thoemke – Reading Specialist & Differentiated Learning Lab
I am excited for the opportunity to work with all students! I truly enjoy sharing the educational journey and watching their spiritual, academic, and social growth throughout the year. Students in my classes further develop the skills necessary to succeed in middle school and beyond.
Education: M.A. in Education and B.A. in Business from the College of St. Catherine.
Kari McGrath – Enrollment Coordinator
I love the great community of our Catholic school. I sent four of my children through St. Jude of the Lake and now I am privileged to share this school community with new parents.
I really enjoy meeting prospective new families, giving tours, and answering questions about the school.
Laurie Barclay – Administrative Assistant
I am delighted to interact with our students and families each day! I am the face of the school office and I look forward to your phone calls and visits. I sent all of my daughters to school here and it was the best decision I made for them as children. This school has been a blessing to me and my family.
